Selected Works by Yehia El Alaily
Celebrated for his commercial photography, Yehia El Alaili’s personal work is no less impressive and visually striking. Outside of the studio, Yehia’s photographs present to the viewer a raw and unfiltered Egypt. In his photographs of Sinai, we see a land much unchanged since the start of recorded history, with the local Bedouins a constant presence. Similarly, one of the evergreen keepers of an Ancient Egyptian temple keeps watch over columns that have survived for millennia. In these photographs,
we can see Yehia’s exploration of the values of nature and time, and how they intersect with the affairs of man on their own terms.
