At 29, Omar Allam is already a world traveler: Born in Vienna, He has spent time in Cairo, Istanbul, New York, New Delhi, Dubai, Kathmandu, and Beijing. A childhood passion for cameras meant that he was filming everything from summer vacations to friends skateboarding. This grew to how he photographs the world around him today. Freedom, honesty, and a sense of casualness are things Allam looks for in his photography. Allam says he has always been fascinated with things considered ‘old world’, like ancient Egyptian occult practices or his love of the design of vintage cars. He thinks that is why he is so drawn to black and white photography because it plays into nostalgia.
